WSIS followed a long road, since the initial preparatory meetings in 2001 till the second of its two central meetings, in Tunis on November 2005. It was convened by the United Nations as a development summit, and in fact included recommendations for bilateral and multilateral development agencies to adopt ICT and adapt to the context of the Information Society.
This block of Communications will present reflections on the influence of the Summit in the way of carrying out development cooperation, and innovative practices or processes in the use of ICT that it could have promoted in the international development cooperation system.
